Every autumn retro cycling enthusiasts from around the world convene in the Chianti region of Tuscany for the annual “L’Eroica” (heroic) event. This is a unique and amazing mass ride, where participants are encouraged to ride in retro kit. It’s not obligatory to ride an antique bike however for those really keen to enter into the spirit of the event it can be arranged. The whole weekend is one giant festival, with plenty of Chianti flowing and some great riding – much of which is on gravel roads, which are suitable for touring style road tyres. For this very special occasion we’ve selected some equally special four star period accommodation, very much in keeping with the ambience of this unique event.
