A superb road cycling holiday in France, for those looking for a cycling challenge!! When we introduced our Pyrenean holiday last year we knew it would be a spectacular trip. We had no idea however just how successful and how popular it would be! So of course, by popular demand, it’s back for 2008 - but this year, also by popular demand, it’s going to be bigger and better than before.

Extended to 10 days and including a much-needed (optional) rest day we’re able to spend even more time in the mountains and enjoy what is now a true trans-Pyrenean experience. Undoubtedly, this is one of our most ambitious and most demanding trips ever.

Arriving in Biarritz and starting the riding on the northern fringes of this great mountain range our challenge is to traverse our way right across to the shores of the Mediterranean on the southern end of the range, from where we will fly home when our tour has been completed.

Aided by a couple of short transfers to allow us to concentrate on the best riding, we move from place to place on a daily basis, crossing many of the famous Tour de France cols in the process. Designed with climbers in mind this tour will appeal to the more serious amateur rider who enjoys pushing themselves just that little bit further.

If you’ve always wondered what it feels like to climb the likes of the Tourmalet, Aubisque, Aspin and Perysourde then this is your chance. These mountains are legendary in cycling terms, and on this trip you get to follow in the wheel marks of the pros and see what it’s really like to take on these great monsters.
