This latest addition to our range of European road cycling holidays is a great mountain challenges and sure to become a Skedaddle favourite. Beginning in Thonon les Bains close to the Swiss border and ending 740 km later in Antibes by the shores of the Med., this is a challenge which takes in some of the highest mountain roads in Europe and is designed to appeal to experienced riders. The route takes us over 43 categorised cols, naturally including many made famous by the Tour de France.

After arrival in Geneva we transfer to Thonon Les Bains on the shore of Lake Geneva. The following morning we set off to Notre Dam de Belle Combe. It’s not exactly a gentle start to the tour, it is however just a small taste of what’s in store during the next few days. As we press onwards the climbs, and, of course, the descents, get longer and more challenging and we will exceed 2000m in altitude several times; Mont Cenis, the Izoard, Forches, they’re all here. We’ll also be tackling Col de L’Iseran and Col de la Bonnette.

We end our trip in Antibes with a post-ride dip and a hearty Provencal meal to celebrate our achievements. A short transfer the following morning to Nice airport completes the trip.
